Privacy policy

Records on your device

SetDown stores exercises, workout entries, daily notes, bodyweight entries, and preferences on your device. It does not require a SetDown account or send these records to a SetDown server. It does not include third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs.

Before an import or restore, the app keeps one local JSON recovery copy of the existing records. This copy remains on your device and is replaced by the next pre-import copy. Settings lets you export or remove it. Deleting a record from the current log does not also remove it from an earlier recovery copy, an exported file, or a device backup.

Files you choose to export

You can export a JSON backup or CSV file using Apple’s file and sharing controls. You choose where to save it, including your iCloud Drive, another folder in Files, or another app. These exports are manual. Exported copies are managed by you and the service you select. Deleting information inside SetDown does not delete copies you exported elsewhere.

Device backups

If iCloud Backup is on and a completed backup includes SetDown, you can restore its saved data from that backup on a new iPhone. Apple manages these device backups according to your settings. Installing SetDown alone does not restore a device backup.

Device backups are separate from SetDown’s manual JSON export. Neither a device backup nor an exported file keeps SetDown installations automatically in sync.

Support correspondence

If you email us, we and our email service providers receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and resolve your request. Avoid sending sensitive notes or full backups unless necessary.

Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations. We cannot retrieve or delete the local records on your device remotely.

Your choices

Use the app’s editing and deletion controls to manage saved records. You can export a backup for your own use. Uninstalling the app can remove local app data; keep an external backup if you want to retain it. Exported files and device backups must be managed separately.

Visiting this website

The SetDown website is separate from the app’s local records. GitHub Pages hosts the site, and Cloudflare provides delivery and security services. These providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser and network information, and diagnostic or security events to deliver, operate, and protect the website.

The site uses a small script for legacy product redirects and the footer year. Cloudflare may supply email-address protection and network-error reporting. These SetDown pages do not add advertising or analytics scripts, tracking pixels, submission forms, or embedded third-party content. Contact links open your email app; a message is sent only if you send it.

Provider handling is described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement and Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Following a link to another service subjects that visit to its own practices. The app’s local-storage description is not a claim that website visits create no technical logs.

Changes to this policy

If SetDown’s data practices change, we will update this policy and the relevant App Store disclosures. This policy describes the app and website as they work today.
